recreate your park!-2017 - August 5&6
This is one of our favorite events; it is recreation and re-creation all-in-one! Enjoy the free kayaking (all equipment supplied), face painting, a swimming race across the lake, and cap the evening off with a bonfire and great concert by local artist Van Wagner.Greenwood Furnace Park.
whipple lake summer concert series
There are four concerts scheduled and attendance is free! Eat some popcorn and enjoy the bonfire on the beach, or paddle your kayak around the lake while listening to a variety of bands. The concerts dates are listed on the events side-bar on the home page, but are typically held the 3rd Saturday of each month.
Holiday Open House - December 3, 1-4 pm
Come to the festivities and take part in a variety of holiday traditions. Activities include:
- Make old-fashioned tree ornaments
- Ride a HORSE-DRAWN carriage through the park!
- Visit with old Saint Nick himself!
- See the Victorian Christmas tree decorations
- And don't miss the hot cider and home made cookies, especially the cookies...
Polar Plunge and Winterfest - 2017

Tell old man winter that he doesn't scare you by jumping in the icy waters of Greenwood Furnace Lake! Or, just come and watch, eat some hot soup, and enjoy any of the other activities such as broom ball, a 5 mile running race, snow shoe demonstration, ice harvesting.
